Choi
Chat Operator
Bipolar World congratulates Choi,
our Volunteer of the month for the month of
August, 2006. Choi is a very talented
chat operator in Bipolar World's Support
Chat Room where she readily shares her personal experiences and
knowledge with others.
We asked Choi to tell us a bit about
herself and this is what she had to say.
"I'm 36 years old and I live in
Portland, Oregon with my husband and two
children. I was first diagnosed with
depression in high school, but it was
not until after my accident, that my
head was injured. I was diagnosed with
bp1 in 1995. I would get very angry with
manic episodes; finally, my husband
begged me to get on meds and find a
website for support, so in 2003 I came
across Bipolarworld.net, and I read the
webpage, and decided to chat. I suffer
from migraines, PTSD and anxiety. I have
learned a lot about bipolar disorder and
medications through the chat, which has
been very supportive. I became chat
operator about 7 months ago. It has been
an honor to represent the channel. I
enjoy helping others out, because it
also helps me heal. The web page also
has so much information on such topics
as PTSD, BP, mood charts, and other
resources like books to read."
Stop by the chat room when you have a
chance and hopefully you'll get to meet
Choi. She's in the room at varying
hours and gives selflessly of herself to
help others as the chatters can tell you.
Thanks for being you, Choi - you are a
wonderful person and we're honored to have
you volunteer with us! Lots of hugs
from us all...
Special Thanks from Allie and David
