Q: Genetic Factors
I work in a psychiatric hospital in Boston so I am very familiar with bipolar
disorder. I have recently become involved with a man whose mother is bipolar and
I'm not planning on marrying this man anytime soon, however I am 33 and am
looking for a potential father for my future children. I am wondering what the
genetic factors are,I know it is passed on...his mom has it,does this increase
the chances alot that my children with him would have the disorder? Thank you
for your time and attention and any info you can give.Peace,Lauri
Dear Lauri --
Here's a little
essay on that topic. Hope it helps.
