Dear Dr Phelps,

Is there any link to Bipolar disorder and marijuana psychosis? I've had mostly negative attacks when I do cannabis. It's very frightening and I would like some kind of feedback on why this is occuring.

Marijuana use is not one of my particular areas of expertise.  My patients generally seem to have found MJ a "mood stabilizer" of sorts, rather than something that makes them have negative experiences.  But even the medications I use, while they can help a lot of folks, sometimes cause pretty negative experiences in some people.  So I would guess your experience is like that, and may not have any additional meaning.
