Q: Bipolar Disorder & Crime
IF you have a bipolar disorder, could it be possible that it could cause you to
commit a crime such as Robbery and kidnapping in the first degree? If so, would
this make any difference in a trial for such as crime?
Dear Ms. L' --
I'm not a "forensic" psychiatrist, which is the kind that specializes in
psychiatry and the law. My only slightly educated guess is that an "insanity"
defense using bipolar disorder would be difficult to support, because it's
difficult generally (very few who use it are acquitted, and it's used much less
than you would think). Try this
wonderful legal

answer).
