Q: Is This Common w/Antipsychotics
Doctor: My mother age 62 has a lifelong history of Bipolar most likely
schizoaffective type, she has some bizzare side effects on ALL of the
atypical anti-psychotics, yet she responds well to Navane could it be that her
body was familiar with that type of drug for 30 years? Versus the new one's,
also I read that sensitivity to some of the anti-pschotics could indicate
possible early dementia is there any truth to that? Bottom line is she tolerates
the typical versus the atypicals is that uncommon?
Dear Mr. W' --
Not sure about "common" but I've seen that pattern a few times.
"Indicate possible early dementia" -- haven't heard that notion, but
that is not a territory I usually hang out to know latest details
on.
