Q: Lasik Eye Surgery & Bipolar Symptoms
I have a friend that is bi-polar as am I an my child , my friend decided to have lasik eye surgery and the tramatic depression a day or two after
this prceedure we are now having ect treatments and finally after the 4th have
seen a bit of improvment and are scheduled tomorrow for a 5th. I am convinced
that the lazer being directly into the pupil played a role to this sudden attack
and need to know if you have any helpful advice. I sure don't want an
inhancement done if this could happen again and by the way the surgery was a
failure. Please help!!
Dear Ms H' --
(I've gotten behind on letters; pardon the brevity of this
reply)
Sorry, I'm not aware of any connection between lasik eye surgery and bipolar
disorder symptoms or worsening. Checking PUB MED, the National Library of
Medicine holdings, there are no references when one searches "Lasik bipolar".
