Q: Lithium Orotate-Doc Wants Proof It Works
I emailed you this question about two years ago:
http://www.bipolarworld.net/Phelps/ph_2003/ph887.htm
My wife has been on Lithium Orotate (we found a brand that is much cheaper than
the Serenity, about $12 every two months) and 5-HTP for about two years now and
has been very stable, no major depression, and no more mania.
The doctors are both amazed and pleased, one doctor who had been bouncing her
from med to med didn't like the fact that she is no longer following his
directions, and still wants proof that this alternative treatment works. I
have been married to my wife for 10 years, these last two years of stability is
proof enough for me.
Dear Mr. G' --
Whatever the reason, I'm glad to hear of this outcome. Would you mind helping
me thus: if your wife has ever had a lithium level checked, I'd be interested
in knowing what that was (or several, if she's had them). If that's not been
done, one could argue it should be, though I can also understand a "nobody rock
this boat no-how" approach. You can
write direct with any
level data. Thanks, and thanks for the follow-up.
Dr. Phelps
