Q: A Reader Comments on Hair Like Sensations
Just a comment on the hair like sensations one individual feels and your
response. I experience this on one side of my face at times. It is
frustrating more than anything to not be able to swipe the little "spider webs"
away. I do have very "hyperesthetic" periods where I can't stand noise, people,
visual disturbance, light, etc., and have been told this is a manifestation of
manic states. I also have allergies requiring medications, but take Depakote,
instead. Sometimes my skin is so sensitive that it actually hurts to touch
anything. My eyes are always irritated. I have an eating disorder, can be
compulsive, etc. This would make an interesting study. I've always viewed it
as if my brain is over stimulating my nerve endings for some reason. From now on
I'll be more attuned to that manic - hypersensitive connection. Thank you!
Dear Ms. L-
Thank you for passing along your
experience. That is a good example I will be able to use with my patients, very
helpful, appreciated. I'm sure others might find it likewise and will ask The
Bipolar World folks to post this so that others may benefit.
