Q: Glucose Fasting Levels after Zyprexa is Discontinued
Hello Dr.,
I recently stopped taking zyprexa. Soon after got blood
work done and had a glucose fasting level of 103 mg/dL- pre-diabetes. I was
wondering if these levels go down after stopping zyprexa, or is this something
else I am going to have to worry about? I can't find any definitive answers on
the web. Thanks for your time and your wonderful website.
Dear Mark-
In general, unless you had a family history of
diabetes, and were already overweight, and were getting very little physical
activity, we (psychiatrists) would expect these numbers to go back down. Thank
