Mr. and Mrs. Dalmay had been married for several years. They loved each other very much, and had a large and beautiful home. The only flaw in their otherwise perfect relationship was that so far they had not been blessed with a child.

Mr Dalmay worked as a firefighter and his wife was a teacher, so both of them were busy, but having a family was important to them.

One night when Mr. Dalmay arrived home from work Mrs. Dalmay flew into his arms, all excited with tears running down her cheeks. He easily picked her up in his arms and carried her to his favourite chair. "Now, now .... what is this all about?" he asked gently, as he brushed away her tears. Quickly she told him they were happy tears and that she had been to see the doctor and they were finally going to have a baby.
