Bipolar Disorder, Manic Depression
Definition

Bipolar Disorder - A psychiatric condition defined by extreme, often inappropriate and unpredictable mood swings.

These moods can occur on a spectrum ranging from debilitating depression to unbridled mania, and from a minor annoyance to lifelong disability.

Bipolar Disorder is often difficult to diagnose, due to the complex nature of the disorder.

Suicide

Unfortunately suicide is an all too common result of bipolar disorder - it is estimated that 15% of those diagnosed may take their own life.

If you are suicidal right now don't wait - call 911, call your doctor, or go to the nearest emergency room. You need to get to a safe place.
